I think Fleur ‘n’ Boots found her way inside from my garden when I wasn’t looking. She wears a big hat with her two plaits hanging over her shoulders. She has on her fancy boots and a gathered skirt with plaited ribbons around the waist and a fabric and lace border. This is adorned with a fabric flower, held in place with a Katkins wooden cat button (her little yard friend). Her arms are sewn to the shoulders with buttons, she has slender fingers to pick the flowers or pull the weeds, and buttons on her knee joints. Her face is shaped with little darts, and is hand-drawn using fine pen and coloured using my favourite Prismacolor pencils. Fleur is 45cm (18in).
The pattern for Fleur ‘n’ Boots includes detailed instructions and clear diagrams and is available for $15, or $18 with 35mm (1¼in) cat button. A kit is also available for $62 and includes the pattern, fabrics, woolwave hair plait, lace, and buttons including the Katkins wooden cat button. Stuffing is not included. A mini kit is available for $30 and includes the pattern, hair yarn, 'skin' fabric and cat button. Her printed face is available printed on Kona cloth and is available for $10.50.
